We imagine the “over the fence” market will be pretty strong between neighbours at Hidden Valley Estate. Having a box of fruit ‘n veg handy when you see your neighbour park their boat is a sure way to score some fresh fillets too! To give you a helping hand with when to plant the different seeds, we’ve put together a list of what grows best at what time of year in the Whitsundays:
SUMMER
Herbs – basil, coriander, mint and tarragon.
Fruit and vegetables – beetroot, capsicum, spring onion, tomato, pumpkin, lettuce, cucumber, celery, cauliflower.
AUTUMN
Herbs – basil, coriander, garlic, parsley and chives.
Fruit and vegetables – beans, beetroot, cabbage, cauliflower, celery, cucumber, melons, lettuce, potato, pumpkin, tomato and zucchini.
WINTER

Experimenting with your own garden is half the fun of the acreage lifestyle at Hidden Valley. If all else fails, we may know the location of a few pretty impressive mango trees by the creek near lot 9 that will help keep you fed.
